Michael Dlouhy's Think and Grow Rich Training - Chapter 13 The Brain

Chapter 13 The Brain

I have heard and read Mentoring for Free's tag line "Where you learn how to think not what
to think" many times. Until recently I understood this to mean we learn to think independently,
and to not be influenced by people in our lives who are negative or uninformed about the net
work marketing experience or other things.

Certainly this is part of the message, and development of the self confidence it takes to think
independently is crucial. Hill addresses this in Chapter 3 in a five step self confidence formula
that I read daily.

Beyond thinking independently, though, is understanding the brain at a higher level as discussed
in this chapter. Here we learn of the importance of factors that are beyond what we can see and
touch. We learn that the brain is a receiving station via the creative imagination taking in the
thoughts of others especially when they are stepped up to a high rate of vibration through emotion.

We experience this often on master mind calls like this one.

Our brains are also sending stations via the subconscious mind that broadcasts thoughts outward
using emotions to ramp up the intensity. We can program this process to be positive using auto-
suggestion. A good example is saying powerful, positive self talk prior to making a call to a client.

This gets us in a positive mode and broadcasts the same to the client increasing our ability to be
in the moment with them and facilitates communication. These sending and receiving functions of
the brain are no less powerful for being intangible, and in fact the intangible may be more powerful
than influences that we can touch and see.

Given the potential for negativity that can happen through this on-going broadcast process, we must
keep in mind the importance of blocking the negative influences around us. There is no door or gate
way we can conveniently close to keep them out. In fact, in a previous chapter Hill tells us that the
subconscious mind is at work 24/7, it never stops.

So part of learning how to think is to constantly say our positive self talk. We need to say it often
enough that it becomes a habit...so much so that behind all of our activities, and conversations and
life events, self talk is happening. In the end, the only way to protect ourselves from negative thoughts
and emotions is to block the doorway of our minds with so much positive thought and emotion that
the negative can't find a way in.

Then, Michael often reminds us, is when the magic happens.
