Chapter 3 - Faith

When we joined our first Network Marketing company did we
really have the faith that we would succeed?

When I began my Networking Marketing career I had faith in
the industry being successful and if I followed the instructions
of my upline,  I believed I could attain some of the success  too.

Sounds pretty wishy-washy doesn’t it?  I had faith in the industry
being successful and faith that I COULD attain some of the success?
Not much faith in myself was there?

Somewhere along the line I had to develop faith in myself.   I always
had more faith in the success of others than I had in my success.
Believing in the ability of others was easy.  Believing
in my abilities was a lot harder.  I knew me, I knew my shortcomings, I knew
all the things I had tried to do in my life and had failed in.

When I introduced others into the business I did not know their shortcomings
I just knew they wanted something more in life and I had faith in their
becoming successful.  Faith in myself took a lot longer.

Now I believe not only in the success of the industry but I also have
the faith that I can have ALL the success I desire.

Hill tells us “ FAITH is a state of mind which may be induced, or
created, by affirmation or repeated instructions to the subconscious
mind, through the principle of autosuggestion.”

Everything begins in the mind.

My Mentors, Michael and Linda Dlouhy, believed in me long before I believed
in myself.  That was huge.  If Michael asked me to do something,
I figured he had the faith in my being able to do it and that encouraged
me to do it.
  
Using the Mentoring for Free System has been critical in helping me
gain the absolute faith in myself to attain any desire I choose.

I began with baby steps and as I kept taking the steps, never quiting
even when the going got tough or scary, I kept taking another step and
with each step my belief and faith grew.  I have now taken enough
steps to feel “Ten foot tall and bullet proof” as Michael would say.

Hill writes “Perfection will come through practice. It cannot come by
merely reading instructions.”

Faith is a state of mind and I can create faith in my mind by self talk
but if I want to see the reality of my faith created in my life, I have to
go beyond creating it just in my mind, I not only have to do my self talk,
I have to LIVE my self talk everyday.

Chapter 2-Desire

When I was first introduced to network marketing I developed a Desire for residual income.

Company after company promised that their products and comp plan were the best.  My Desire ebbed and flowed.  Many great things would sidetrack me from staying the course.  Fear would constantly show up and I would find other things to fill that Desire space.

When I finally found Mentoring For Free and the Mental Cleanse, I started learning how to outwit the Ghosts of Fear.  Through my weekly, monthly, and yearly participation in the Mental Cleanse and through learning Skills, my Desire continues to increase. No longer do I look at other companies.  I have found my  Five Pillar “home.”  No longer do I listen to all those voices that want to pull me away from owning my life.

Lots of people have the Desire to own their lives—to no longer be enslaved to debt or an alarm clock—but they don’t stay the course.  They give up on themselves and take the path of least resistance.  They jump from company to company hoping that something will change. They fill their lives with busyness so that they have an excuse for not building their business.

You cannot give Desire to someone else.  It must come from deep within the individual.  Some have it and will find ways to keep it alive.  They will stay plugged in.  They will do the Personal Development.  They will learn the Skills necessary for success both online and/or offline.  They will not quit.

Others do not.

They will find something that will derail them from achieving the success they deserve. These are usually good things that give a sense of satisfaction at the time, but in the end, they prevent them from become really successful. These activities suck up time and energy. The reality is it takes Time, Energy, and Laser Focus to become successful in network marketing. Add to that a huge amount of Self-Discipline.

So the question is “Do you have what you truly want and if not, what is standing in your way?”

The Garden of the Earth needs FUEL to make things grow.
Each seed has enough Fuel to get started within itself
of from the fruit surrounding it. It needs a lot more
Fuel to grow into a mature crop capable of producing
new fruit and seed.

The Sun is a constant source of white hot burning
energy. Its heat excites seeds to come to life, and
gives the new seedlings a goal to cut through the soil
and reach for. Plants use its Energy to convert carbon
dioxide into food to produce new cells.

Solar Energy is constant and strong, strong enough to
penetrate the clouds. The clouds themselves were
created by the Sun to carry life-giving water from the
oceans and lakes to the Garden. Solar Heat fuels the
winds to drive them.

The Garden of the Mind needs FUEL to transform the
seeds of Thought and grow them into the Fruits of
Manifest Reality.

DESIRE must be white hot, constant and strong enough to
cut through the clouds of Doubt and Fear. It must
excite the mind to reach up through obstacles toward a
Goal.

CHAPTER 2 DESIRE THE STARTING POINT OF ALL ACHIEVEMENT

The First Step toward Riches

This chapter gives us the mechanics as to how we must begin developing our "Why" from Chapter 2 of the ebook, Success In 10 Steps.

As Barnes did, our "Why" may start out as a wish. Over time it must evolve into a "Why" that will bring us to tears. Hill gives us examples of people with a burning desire similar to Barnes:

The great warrior who traveled to his enemies country and burned his ships after landing, Marshal Field after the great Chicago fire, Columbus, Copenicus, Henry Ford, Edison, Whelan, Lincoln, Wright Brothers, Marconi, and Hill himself.

Hill was able to outwit mother nature by working with his son, Blair, for many years to teach him to hear. With the aid of a hearing company, Blair developed about 65% of his hearing, just as Hill had told him many years earlier.

There are many people we know of today who have developed this same burning desire as Barnes:

Michael and Linda Dlouhy, Tom Schrieter, Zig Ziglar, Jim Rohn and many others.

Hill gives us 6 steps to help us develop that same definiteness of purpose:

  1. Fix your mind on the exact amount of money you desire.
  2. Determine exactly what you will give in return.
  3. Establish a definite date of completion.
  4. Create a definite plan (To begin, we have Steps 1, 2 & 3)
  5. Write out a clear statement of the amount of money, the time limit and what you intend to give in return.
  6. Read your written statement twice daily.

I put this statement and the results of Chapters 3 and 4 on 4" x 6" cards. I read those cards twice daily. If I am to succeed by converting my "Why" from Chapter 2 of Success In 10 Steps to reality, I must develop a burning desire and a definiteness of purpose.

Then I must be here posting lessons, speaking up consistently. I must be here a year from now. I must be on as many of the 10 weekly calls as possible. If I can't be on them, I must listen to the recordings. I must be persistent as Hill was with Blair.

If my lesson posting was hit and miss, I would not have a "Why" that would bring me to tears. If I got the MFF Pro System and did not get trained on how to promote it on our training calls, I would get discouraged and quit.

But I'm all in. I'm 10 foot tall and bullet proof as Tuula says. I'm here to execute my plan and complete it on time.

This is how I thank Michael and Linda, by my actions. I so much appreciate this MFF system and what it is and will do for me, I feel compelled to show that appreciation by my results.

I thank each member of this amazing mastermind group for their participation, which helps me learn and grow into the leader I will become.

Chapter 2 - Desire

When we begin to use the MFF System we meet a lot of people
who are looking for help with their business.

Our purpose is to help the people who really want
the help.  So how do we know who the ones are
who really want help?

The four steps of the MFF System are there to
show us who are really serious and who are just
"tire kickers."

When we first begin, we expect everyone to
walk through the system easily step by step and when
that does not happen what we do also determines
whether we are really serious or whether we are
also "tire kickers".

Do we let one person who does not answer our calls,
one person who never reads the e-book,  one person who
does not want to use the system, or one person who
after being on the calls decides to quit, do we let
them determine our outcome?

We all have a choice.  We can be influenced by assumptions
of others or by assumptions of our own mind.  Just because
people are people and people begin and quit things all
the time does not mean something does not work.
Most things work if we work them.

Is our desire strong enough to accept the fact that we are
responsible for our own outcomes.  Our future is not
determined by one or two people, our future is determined
by what we think and what we are willing to do.

Because someone does not like what is said on a call, or
because someone determined the System is not for them,
does not mean things will not work for us.  What we will do is not their
decision to make.  We are the only ones who decide what is right
for us and if we take responsibility for it we will eventually
succeed in anything we undertake.

How strong is our desire?  Is it strong enough that we would
join 100 companies to figure it out?  Is it strong enough we would
burn all our bridges?  Is it strong enough that we would take
any menial job, just so we could be with the person we want
to be in partnership with?  Is our desire strong enough that we
would continue on even if everyone we knew told us we would
fail?

Are we one of the coachable serious players or are we one of
the "tire Kickers"?

Chapter 1 - Thoughts are Things

For years I had looked for answers on how to
really build a Network Marketing business.  Then
one Saturday evening I came across an article which
I found very interesting so I clicked on the accompanying
link and requested the e-book “Success in 10 Steps”.

When I first read “Success in 10 Steps” I thought “This man
sounds like he knows what he is talking about.”

I thought “This sounds like the truth.”

I thought “My husband needs to read this.”

I thought “We need to talk to this man.”

I thought “This is the help we have been looking for.”

I thought “We need to take advantage of this opportunity.”

Hill tells us “Thoughts are things”.

My thoughts those many years ago brought to me to
the riches of personal development, a growing Network
Marketing business and a new family team of like minded
individuals who help and support each other as we build
our futures together.

One saying summarizes this chapter on Thoughts are things and it is:

"If you think you can, you can.  If you think you can’t, you can’t."

I think I can.  I know I can.  I am.

Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill Chapter 1 - Thoughts Are Things

CHAPTER 1 INTRODUCTION

THE MAN WHO "THOUGHT" HIS WAY INTO PARTNERSHIP WITH THOMAS A. EDISON

Let's compare Edwin C. Barnes situation with our current situation here in MFF.

Barnes had a desire to work with Edison.

When a person downloads our ebook, they have a desire to learn more. At first, they have no idea how this could happen. We share Steps 1, 2 and 3 with those who have a strong desire to learn more.

Barnes had no money, but his desire was so great, this did not stop him. He presented himself to Edison, looking like a tramp. Edison saw something in Barnes facial expressions that told him Barnes desire was very strong.

It was what Barnes thought, not his appearance, that caused Edison to hire him into his lab. This was not the relationship Barnes wanted, but he knew he would eventually be in business with Edison, even if it took the rest of his life. Remember Thoughts are Things. Just like Sharon Cobb knew there was somebody out there that could help her achieve her desire.

For months Barnes worked in an unimportant job. During this time his desire became stronger and stronger, i.e his thoughts became stronger and stronger.

Barnes eventually proved a definite purpose will lead us to where we want to be.

Back to our situation here in MFF.

If we have a strong desire, we will follow all the instructions in Chapter 2 of the ebook and create our "Why" or our desire. As a person begins learning these 13 steps in T&GR, their "Why", or desire, grows stronger and stronger.

As was the case with Barnes, the method for achieving that desire may change. We must recognize that opportunity when it presents itself, just as Barnes did.

Hill found that all successful men had one thing in common, a master mind group. Michael and Linda have created that here in all our training. Each one of us has the same opportunities Hill found in those he interviewed.

I thank Michael and Linda for creating such a powerful way we can implement these same 13 steps here in MFF.

I also thank each member of our master mind groups. Without them we could not achieve our desires.

Chapter 10 - POWER OF THE MASTER MIND - THE DRIVING FORCE

Many of us here have joined a Network Marketing company only to find out we were alone in building our businesses.  We may have been told "I will be there for you and help you" by our new upline, only to find out that they really could not help us as they didn't seem to know any more than we did and maybe were not willing to put in the time to teach us.

Others may have found that once they were sponsored they could not even connect with their sponsor and the sponsor never returned their calls; OR, some signed up and never even knew or ever talked with their sponsor.

So how many struggled along and struggled along until they decided this just was not going to work and quit the industry and gave up on their dreams.

So very sad!

Building our business by ourselves is not encouraging, it is not fun, it is a very difficult road to travel on and the chances of making it work is next to none.

Thankfully, some of us began looking for help.  We understood the concept and therefore, knew there had to be someone, somewhere, who knew how to make this business work. 

We had faith and our faith was a driving force for us to find the help which we knew we needed.  Our search brought us to the e-book "Success in 10 Steps", the Mentoring for Free System and the group of like minded people who were going where we wanted to go and had a System, a Mastermind to help us stay on track and teach us what we needed to do to make our business a success. We were not alone anymore.

Lucy and I were talking the other day about how thoughts affect us. She did a muscle test on me several times. Sometimes thinking, "Good Boy" and sometimes thinking, "Bad Boy". Every time when she thought "Good Boy", I was strong. When she thought "Bad Boy", I was weak. These thoughts were very mild compared to some of the thoughts we tell ourselves, about ourselves and about others. sometimes these thoughts are in our minds, sometimes they are verbal. The following video demonstrates "Thoughts are Things", even when we think them. Distance has no bearing. It could be 2 feet or 1000 miles. We can also test anything we eat to see if it is good (strong) or bad (weak) for us.

Chapter 2 - Desire The Starting Point of all Achievement

When we begin to use the MFF System we meet a lot of people who are looking for help with their business.

Our purpose is to help the people who really want the help.  So how do we know who the ones are who really want help?

The four steps of the MFF System are there to show us who are really serious and who are just "tire kickers."

When we first begin, we expect everyone to walk through the system easily step by step and when that does not happen what we do also determines whether we are really serious or whether we are also "tire kickers". 

Do we let one person who does not answer our calls, one person who never reads the e-book,  one person who does not want to use the system, or one person who after being on the calls decides to quit, do we let them determine our outcome?

We all have a choice.  We can be influenced by assumptions of others or by assumptions of our own mind.  Just because people are people and people begin and quit things all the time does not mean something does not work. Most things work if we work them.

Is our desire strong enough to accept the fact that we are responsible for our own outcomes.  Our future is not determined by one or two people, our future is determined by what we think and what we are willing to do.

Because someone does not like what is said on a call, or because someone determined the System is not for them, does not mean things will not work for us.  What we will do is not their decision to make.  We are the only ones who decide what is right for us and if we take responsibility for it we will eventually succeed in anything we undertake.

How strong is our desire?  Is it strong enough that we would join 100 companies to figure it out?  Is it strong enough we would burn all our bridges?  Is it strong enough that we would take any menial job, just so we could be with the person we want to be in partnership with?  Is our desire strong enough that we would continue on even if everyone we knew told us we would fail? 

Are we one of the coachable serious players or are we one of the "tire Kickers"?

MLM Prospect, But Employee Mindset

I saw a comment from a successful internet marketer this week that I think is very important to consistently remind yourself of.

Almost everybody we talk to about network marketing is an employee. They come from an employee mindset. Very few are actually business owners.

The employee mindset is: "OK. I really want to be successful on my own. I don't want to have a boss. I want to make more money. What do I do?"

The employee mindset is NOT: "OK. I'm going to work this out for myself and come up with my own business plan."

And the point this guy was making is, the most important word when you are talking to a prospect is "system."

Let me repeat that. Heck, let me SCREAM that.

THE MOST IMPORTANT WORD WHEN YOU ARE TALKING TO A PROSPECT IS:

SYSTEM SYSTEM SYSTEM SYSTEM SYSTEM SYSTEM SYSTEM SYSTEM!

You've got to give them a step-by-step system. They have to see a system that can work for them. You have to show them how it has worked for others, and you have to show them, step-by-step, exactly what they will do with it.

But it's more than just that. Your prospect not only has the opportunity to use a system that is tested and proven to work, but they also have the opportunity to talk to their prospects about that tested, proven system - which every prospect needs and wants. It's really important. That is exactly what this guy is talking about.

You need to hammer prospects about the system. I mean, REALLY hammer them on this. Most prospects think, "Oh, this company has a great product. That's what I need." Or, "Oh, I'm personally sponsored by the heavy hitter. That's what I need." Or, "It's been proven that this compensation plan pays out 80%, and over 90% of the people who use it are successful."

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO!

Most prospects need to use the Success In 10 Steps ebook to have success, but some won't. Everybody knows that a new person needs a tested, proven system to start with. If you can find a better, tested proven system, fine. We've used this one for over 9 years, and it constantly produces the targeted leads we want.

That's what those with the "employee mindset" need more than anything - good prospects to talk to. Just getting a few really targeted prospects a week can change their lives.

System? Yes. Use it. And talk to your prospects about it. Believe me, they know they need it.

MLM Frustration Causes Success

Lucy and I were talking the other day about how thoughts affect us. She did a muscle test on me several times. Sometimes thinking, "Good Boy" and sometimes thinking, "Bad Boy". Every time when she thought "Good Boy", I was strong. When she thought "Bad Boy", I was weak. These thoughts were very mild compared to some of the thoughts we tell ourselves, about ourselves and about others. sometimes these thoughts are in our minds, sometimes they are verbal. The following video demonstrates "Thoughts are Things", even when we think them. Distance has no bearing. It could be 2 feet or 1000 miles. We can also test anything we eat to see if it is good (strong) or bad (weak) for us.
