Chapter 12, The Connecting Link, The 11th Step Towards Riches

In this chapter Hill describes the subconscious mind as a place where all input, information and impressions from the five senses are automatically stored and as a connector between individual minds and infinite intelligence which allows for the transformation of thoughts into things.

The subconscious mind feeds on our every thought....whether positive or negative...and this process is automatic.  So if you have negative chatter going on in your head...like "this is too hard,"  "this works for other people but it will never work for me," "I'm broke," "that guy is a jerk," etc., the subconscious mind will feed on that, delivering it to infinite intelligence and creating a negative outcome.

Fortunately, Hill assures us that a positive and negative thought can't coexist in the same moment....it's one or the other.  Since most of us have a lot of negative chatter we aren't even aware of, it is essential to consciously and continuously feed our subconscious with positive thoughts augmented by one of the positive emotions. This is why creating and using powerful self talk delivered with emotion throughout the day is so critical.  If we don't take the reins of our minds and consistently focus on the positive, the negative will take over by default.

Hill stresses the importance of delivering our thoughts to the subconscious with emotion. He describes emotion as like the yeast in a loaf of bread which transforms thoughts from a passive to an active state.  So when crafting and saying your self talk, emotion is essential for the achieving the result you seek, whether that is more money, a lot of ebook downloads, or better relationships.
